GenさんとYoshimatsuさんとの夕飯で盛り上がった「なぜdel.icio.usが面白いのか？」議論。
del.icio.usは簡単に言うと、WEB上にブックマークを登録して、皆で共有するだけなのですが、特徴的なのはブックマークにメタタグをキーワードで指定できて、それがどんどんリンクでつながっていくこと。
他にも、気になったニュース記事などをブックマークすると、同じ記事をブックマークした人のユーザIDがリストとして見えるので、ユーザIDのタグをクリックすると、その人が最も新しくブックマークしたリストをみることができます。
このメタタグ経由の情報入手が、今、WEB上で一番早い情報入手経路なのではないかと感じています。

多くのブロガーが、まずはdeliciousでWEBページやニュースをクリッピングして、その後にブログで自分の意見と一緒に書くので、当然かもしれませんが。
deliciousのポイントとして、メタタグを入力する作業は、「情報の整理のためにつける」だけではなくて、「情報を検索するために入力する」という意味合いが強いのも特徴です。
例えば、Amazonというタグをつけるだけだと、そのタグをたどって入手できる情報は、Amazonに関するビジネスから技術まで幅広い情報になるので、もう少し絞りたければECSというタグをつけると、AmazonのWebサービスに関する情報だけを入手できます。
タグ以外にも、ECSの使い方をPHPのサンプルコードで説明しているようなページがあった場合、そのようなWEBページをブックマークしている人は、ECSに興味がありつつPHPも使っている人なので、その人のブックマークはPHPネタの宝庫だったり。
他にも、英語の記事には英語でタグをつけて、日本語の記事には日本語のタグをつけるとか、自分のなかでノウハウを蓄積していくと、かなりカスタマイズされた情報管理と検索のプラットフォームとして使えます。
さらにはAPIも公開されているので、それを利用したFireFoxプラグインとか、自分のメタタグ・ワールドを画像化してくれるサービスなど、周辺サービスもかなり盛り上がりをみせているようです。

「情報の整理のためにメタ情報をつけてください」ということをユーザに求めるのは結構難しくて、セマンティックWEBってどうよ？というようなことも言われていましたが、「メタタグを入力する手間以上のベネフィットが得られれば、ユーザは手間を惜しまない」というGenさんの意見に納得です。
でも、そのベネフィットが実際に使い込まないと見えてこないところが、deliciousがまだキャズム以前なんだろうな～という気はしますが。
DeliciousとFireFoxの連携ではGoing My Wayさんがかなり追及されています。

Hello. My wife and I bought our house about 6 months ago. It was a foreclosure and we were able to get a great deal on it. We also took advantage of the 8K tax credit so that definitely helped. We did an extensive remodeling job and now I want to refinance to cut the term to a 20 or 15 year loan. Does anyone know any good sites for mortgage information? Thanks!
