2/24 Arusha Post Office Internet Cafe

Here I am in Arusha,Tanzania writing this entry from an Internet cafe that the post office runs.
After arriving at Nairobi Airport we had a choice of going into the city by a taxi or by a shuttle bus. Ofcourse we took the shuttle bus that would allow us to see more of the usual Kenyan way of traveling.It was about 18km into the city center where the hotel is placed. Along the road sides were small huts and many people living a very simple life. It reminded me of Old Dehli to New Dehli. Not a place tourists would usually walk around.
After a short rest at the New Stanley Hotel, we took a walk in the nearby park. Nairobi is supposed to be one of the three worst cities for its high crime rates but as long as you keep to the center parts and you don't go off in the evening, it seems to be quite all right.
Next day (23rd) we left for Arusha, Tanzania. A six hour ride through dusty land with little green. The car shaked like anything, I really felt as if I had been on the sea for days when I finally got off at Mt. Meru Hotel. Arusha is one of the most fast growing towns in Tanzania. Yet compared to the cities I'm used to seeing it seems quite small. I suppose that's because I'm not as well traveled as my partner who seemed to be surprised at the size and the number of people living here. Arusha is the center for many of the Safari tours and you would usually see many tourists but February seems to be off season, there are hardly any tourists aside us. The few we saw were Germans, heard that Africa is a popular destination for Germans as it is only 9 hours flight.
We will be staying in Moibalo Coffee Lodge, the most beautiful place I've ever stayed in my life!, for another three days and then will go on to our Safari Tour for eight days. Hope everyone is well and please look forward to the amazing pictures we have been taking. Asaka

とっても楽しそうです！写真のアップも楽しみです！

乾燥した大地にシンプルに生きる人々の暮らしは、
どこか全てが似ているところがあるのかもしれませんね。
(緑豊かですが)昔の日本の風景にも共通するものがあったりして・・・？

話は変わりますが、、、
日本のPostOfficeも(特に普通局)ネットカフェとかやればいいのにぃ！
・・・今後に期待？

ettooさん、こんにちは。無事に帰国しました。
無事どころか、かなりリゾートしてきました。。。
膨大な写真と薄れゆく微細な感覚を前に
どこから始めてよいのか悩んでいるところですが
