サファリのスケジュール Schedule of the Safari Tour
サファリツアーの内容をエミが説明してくれた。世界的に有名なNgorongoro（ンゴロンゴロクレーター）、Serengeti（セレンゲティ）に行くことは知っていたけれど、鳥類の多様性で有名なLake Manyara（レイク マンニャーラ）にも行くとのこと。しかも、このツアーが特別なのは、二日間のカルチャーツアーがあること。ほとんどの観光客はわずかな日程でサファリを行って、パパッと終わらせてしまうけれど、このツアーでは、Into Africaが支援している村を散策しながら人々の生活を見ることとマサイピープルの村を訪れて近くでキャンプできるのです！タンザニアの観光資源をそこに住む人々に還元することに貢献できることは嬉しいもの。
Emi, one of the Safari owner, introduced our schedule for the Safari tour. We will be visiting Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Lake Manyara over five days.What makes this tour special is that it includes two days of cultural discovery where we will be visiting local villages and a Masai village."Into Africa" has managed to organise a tour where not only the tourists but the local people benefit from their touristic wealth, the rich nature and culture.
1日目
アルーシャ出発。Ngorongoro Craterを目指してドライブ。道中にお昼休憩を取り、午後にサファリを実施。Ngorongoro Craterは陥没した死火山。大型の動物が多く見られる世界有数の公園（正式には、保護区）だ。宿泊は、クレーターの縁にキャンプ。
2日目
午前中にNgorongoro Crateにてサファリツアー。お昼をキャンプ場で食べてからSerengetiへ移動。世界一ともいえるこの国立公園には、無数の動物が生息している。Ngorogoro保護区ではマサイ人が生活することは許されているが、Serengetiは一切の人間の生活を禁止している。午後にSerengetiでサファリを行い、ブッシュキャンプを行う。
3日目
午前・午後ともにSerengetiにてサファリ。ブッシュキャンプを実施。
4日目
Serengetiにてサファリ。Olduvai Gorge（リーキー博士が最も古い人類の道具を発掘したオールドヴァイ峡）を訪問。Mto Wa Mbu（ムトワンブ町）に移動。ムトワンブにてキャンプ。
5日目
Mto Wa Mbu（ムトワンブ町）を散策ツアー。多くの民族が住む肥沃な大地とそこに住む人々の生活を見る機会がある。農業方法、伝統的なお酒の作り方を見たり、家を訪れたり、Into Africaが支援している学校を訪問。午後は、マサイのマーケットに行くかキャンプ場でゆっくり！
6日目
午前は、Lake Manyara国立公園をサファリ。Soda Water（重炭酸の水？）と鳥、特にフラミンゴが有名な公園。午後は、Longido（ロンギード村）に移動。マサイピープルの村の近くでキャンプ。
7日目
午前中はマサイピープルの伝統的村を訪問。山を歩きながら薬草の使い方を学んだり、マサイの人が"学習"する学校のような洞穴を尋ねる。午後は、アルーシャに帰る。

Day 1
Depart Arusha and drive to Ngorongoro Crater. Lunch en-route then descend to crater for afternoon and evening game drive. Ngorongoro is collapsed volcano - an incredible natural amphitheatre teeming with all of the African big game. Overnight at campsite on Crater Rim.
Day 2
Another game drive in Ngorongoro then on to the Serengeti. Endless rolling grasslands criss-crossed with forested riverine valleys plays home to millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelles making this one of the world’s most famous wildlife spectacles. Camp overnight in bush campsite.
Day 3
All day game drive in Serengeti. Best time for the wildebeest migration is Dec to June but there are spectacular wildlife sights at anytime of year. Camp overnight in bush campsite.
Day 4
Further game drives in Serengeti and on to Olduvai Gorge (site of the Leakey’s archaeological digs where the earliest human tools and fossils have been found) then continue to Mto Wa Mbu. Arrive in late afternoon with time for local market visit or relax in permanent campsite.
Day 5
Leisurely walking safari through farms and villages along the richly cultivated foot of the rift valley escarpment. You can discover the farming, irrigation, fishing and cattle husbandry techniques, visit houses, school in term time, sample local cuisine, visit income generation projects, wood carvers and generally gain a deeper understanding of the lifestyle of the people who live and work here. Also afternoon swimming pool option at the camp. Camp overnight in Mto Wa Mbu permanent campsite.
Day 6
Game drive around Lake Manyara National Park. This park is famed for the bird life around the soda lake - flamingos in particular, and is home to unusual tree-climbing lions. It also has a large elephant population. In mid afternoon on to Longido for Maasai lands and life experience. Camp with the Maasai overnight.
Day 7
Maasai cultural insights around their village. Here you can visit traditional settlements, spot animals on a easy walking safari in the bush, find out about the medicinal uses of the savanna plants and learn from an elder the history and culture of these fascinating people. Amongst other things our visit supports a cattle dip project for the local people. Return to Arusha for late afternoon. (English schedule copied from Into Africa web page)
